Distance Learning Day

Carroll County Schools implements Distance Learning Days when it is necessary to close one or more schools for inclement weather or any other reason. Distance Learning Days are used rather than adding additional make-up days at the end of the school year or during breaks.

How will you know?

In the event of a school closure, Carroll County School System will communicate with Carroll County families using the following methods:

  • District Website, carrollcountyschools.com

  • Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)

  • Infinite Campus Messenger (Parent Portal app, email, text, voice call)

  • Local Media Outlets (92.1FM, 98.9FM, 102.7FM, 1060AM, 1330AM)

Accessing Assignments

Older students will be able to access assignments using Google Classroom. Students can log into their Google Classroom at classroom.google.com. For lower grades, assignments may be found in the folder that your child brings home each day.

For questions regarding assignments, please email your child's teacher from inside Google Classroom. If Distance Learning Days continue for several days, the district may introduce live, virtual instruction. If this occurs, you will be notified of the times your child should be online for live instruction.

We appreciate your partnership to support student success through Distance Learning!
