Temple Elementary Students Tour Historical Sites

May 04 2017

A group of students from Temple Elementary School recently enjoyed a 3-day trip to Virginia and Washington, D.C. Forty fifth graders toured Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson and Mt. Vernon, the home of George Washington, as well as Ford’s Theatre and the U. S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. Students also had the opportunity to visit the WWII, Korean War and Vietnam Veterans’ Memorials.

“We are always excited when we can provide unique learning opportunities for our students,” said Jennifer Shirley, Director of Elementary and Middle Schools. “Students truly connect with history when they see these great historical sites first hand.”
