Feb 04 2021

Courtney Rogers, Principal of Temple Elementary School, was recently awarded the Georgia Association of Educational Leaders (GAEL) Dr. Jimmy Stokes Exemplary Service Award for her premier efforts in leadership and student success.

GAEL representatives provided the following comments about Rogers' extraordinary work. “The Student Support Team Association for Georgia Educators (SSTAGE) Board of Directors unanimously nominated our current President, Courtney S. Rogers, as the 2021 recipient of the Dr. Jimmy Stokes Exemplary Service Award for her untiring efforts to serve and to ensure the SSTAGE mission and vision remain that beacon to provide leadership through collaboration, learning, and advocacy to enhance educator effectiveness and student success.”

Each year, GAEL provides its members the opportunity to nominate fellow members for this Exemplary Service Award. This award is presented to individuals who have provided distinguished and exemplary service to GAEL, its Affiliate or Associate organization, and the educational community. The award was recently renamed to honor Dr. Jimmy Stokes, a Past President of GAEL who also served as Executive Director of GAEL from 2011 until his retirement in July 2019.
