Teaching, Learning and Leading During Summer Break

Jun 08 2017

Carroll County teachers and administrators are diligently planning for the upcoming school year. More than 80 teachers participated in a two-day collaborative curriculum planning meeting at Bowdon Middle School. The primary purpose of the event is to analyze Georgia Milestones scores from the previous school year and curriculum documents for the upcoming school year to continue to improve academic achievement throughout the District. In addition to the summer curriculum review, frequent assessments are conducted during the school year to ensure there is alignment between classroom instruction in the areas of Math, Science, Social Studies and ELA and the Georgia Milestones testing criteria. “Our teachers appreciate the opportunity to join together with their colleagues from other clusters to develop consistent, effective plans that give all of our students the opportunity to excel,” said Dr. Dana Harman, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning.
