WORKSHOPS AND PRESENTATIONS
Bolling, M. (2007) Supporting Students for Positive Change. This 10 hour PLU course explores adaptation and modifications to curriculum and environment in order to assist teachers in working with children who have needs which require more support in the classroom. The class approaches this task through a problem solving framework and functional assessment approach to address academic and behavioral needs. Presented for the Bay Springs Middle School faculty, Villa Rica, Georgia.

Stiles, K., Rinks, S., Sirian, L. & Bolling M. (2006) Neurodevelopmental and Psychiatric Disorders in the classroom. This 10 hour PLU course is offered as a county-wide staff development opportunity and provides an overview of signs and symptoms of a variety of neurological and psychiatric disorders, causative factors and approaches to classroom management. Presented for Carroll County Schools, Carrollton, Georgia.

Bolling, M. (2006) Behavior Management: FBA & BIP Essentials. Workshop presented to assistant principals and lead special educators teaching the fundamentals regarding FBA and BIP and their importance with respect to special education law. Presented at the Carroll County Board of Education, Carrollton, GA.

This 10 hour PLU course is offered as a county-wide staff development opportunity covering principle of behavior, functional behavioral assessment, behavior intervention planning, and unique strategies to change difficult behavior. Presented for Carroll County Schools, Carrollton, Georgia.

Bolling, M. (2005 & 2006) DIBELS- An Introduction to the Philosophy and Administration of DIBELS- This workshop introduced teachers, counselors, speech and language therapists and psychologists to the Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skill assessment instrument, highlighting, the theory behind it, the importance of DIBELS in decision making and how to administer the instrument. Presented for Carroll County Schools, Villa Rica, Georgia.

Bolling, M & Porter, D. (2005) Collecting Behavioral Data- The purpose of this workshop was to share information and tools with Assistant Principals and SST coordinators in order to better to use data to make decisions regarding behavioral interventions. Presented at the Carroll County Board of Education, Carrollton, GA.

Bolling, M. (2004) Understanding AD/HD- This workshop focused on answering participant questions and sharing up-to-date research on the neurobiology of AD/HD, it’s impact on school performance and how parents can build the scaffolding needed to support the child with AD/HD.
