A team of evaluators from AdvancED Accreditation recently conducted a review of Carroll County School System to evaluate the depth of continuous improvement, and praised the district for the premier efforts occuring system wide.
“From the classroom to the boardroom, our district is committed to positively changing the lives of our students and receiving the positive feedback from highly-regarded professionals that work with school systems all over the world provides validation that we are accomplishing our vision and purpose,” said Scott Cowart, Superintendent of Carroll County School System. “I am incredibly proud of our 24STRONG team.”
AdvancED conducts rigorous on-site reviews of a variety of educational institutions and systems to ensure that all learners realize their full potential. The review process occurs every five years and examines the whole institution—the policies, programs, practices, learning conditions, and cultural context—to determine how well each aspect fulfills the district’s vision of being a premier school system. During the three-day visit, evaluators gathered data by interviewing a wide range of system, school level, and community stakeholders as well as conducting classroom observations on campuses throughout the district.
Accreditation of school systems provides many benefits, including validation and recognition for continuous improvement efforts that have been put in place in the district as well as leadership, support, and recommendations for the work that is being done to align district and school improvement plans going forward. Carroll County School System will receive a complete report from AdvancED next month.
