John F. Zauner Receives GSSA Award

John F. Zauner, Superintendent of Carroll County Schools, received the President Award recently at the Georgia Schools Superintendent Association (GSSA) Bootstrap conference. Bootstrap is a Professional Learning conference for all Superintendents in the state of Georgia. Mr. Zauner was recognized for his visionary qualities and strong leadership abilities. “He is a leader with great vision.” said Herbert W. Garrett, Executive Director of Georgia School Superintendent Association. “ He has led his system sometimes swamped by rapid growth, managed an ambitious building plan, but has found time in the midst of all that to build and nuture a thriving aspiring leaders program within his system.” “He is to be congratulated for having built bridges between his own system and local universities and technical colleges, and he has worked with one of his community’s largest employers, Southwire to build a highly-acclaimed apprenticeship program, 12 for Life, that allows students to be employed as apprentices while finishing a high school diploma.”
